After a hugely successful Allama Iqbal Festival 2025 here in Peterborough, we are delighted to be hosting internationally renowned Chand Ali Khan Qawwal & Party once again. Expect an evening of music, faith, and celebration.

Whether you’re a scholar of Iqbal’s poetry, or whether this if your first time hearing about him, you are welcome to join us for a beautiful tribute to South Asian culture and traditions.

Suitable for all ages! Families, elders, youth… we want to bring generations of the community together to celebrate through the mesmerising sound of Chand Ali Khan Qawwal & Party.

What to Expect

Chand Ali Khan Qawwal & Party are the leading UK-based international Qawwali group, primarily performing in the art of Qawwali & Sufi Bollywood – the devotional music of the Sufis.

Extending the 700-year old genre of Qawwali, Chand Ali Khan Qawwal & Party are the leading lights in Europe. The lead qawwal, Chand Ali Khan, is widely credited for his virtuoso talents in Qawwali and Naat to a range of international audiences. He performs the sacred art form with his mesmerising vocals that create a powerful resonance, encompassing the most complex techniques of the 700-year old tradition. Chand Ali Khan has been rigorously trained under some of the legends of the music industry, as is the UK’s musical disciple of Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Coupled with the disciplined training of the Party generates a fiery and compelling experience, enjoyed by audience around the world.

The performance will have an interval at approximately 19:30 for 15 minutes.

If it’s your first time at the theatre, our friendly volunteers (who are also members of the community) will be at the entrance to welcome you into the building and show you where to go.

Suitable for all ages.

Performances will be in a mixture of Urdu, Punjabi, Farsi, Hindi and English.

Host introductions and speeches will be in a mixture of Urdu and English.
